How to choose a gearbox for a specific car?

It is safest to compare the OEM number, gearbox code, engine type, drive type, and body version. It is also worth checking the mounts, flange type, sensors, and wiring harness if the car has an automatic or electronically controlled gearbox. In many cases, the VIN number is also helpful.

What symptoms may indicate a problem with the gearbox or drive system?

Typical symptoms include jerking when shifting gears, noise during acceleration, vibrations when starting, whining from the transmission area, or play in the half-shaft or shaft. In automatics, delayed reactions, controller errors, and uneven operation after the oil warms up may also appear.
