Purpose and function of the USB AUX In socket

The presented socket is designed for BMW E-series models, including the E60, E61, E81, E87, E90, and E91, where it is responsible for providing USB and AUX connections in an easily accessible location in the cabin. It enables:

• connecting portable devices via the AUX port to play audio through the factory sound system,
• using the USB port as an interface for data storage or selected multimedia devices,
• maintaining the original functionality of the audio system without the need for additional external adapters. This allows the driver and passengers to easily use their own playlists and audio sources while maintaining a consistent look for the vehicle's interior.

Construction, integration, and compatibility

The USB AUX In socket has been designed as part of the BMW factory installation, which translates into precise fitment for the dedicated mounting location and proper cooperation with the vehicle's electrical harness. The design of the integrated socket module allows for:

• stable mounting in the panel or center console,
• secure connection to the factory wiring,
• maintaining ergonomic access to the ports for the user. As an original BMW part, the socket is prepared for operation in an automotive environment, taking into account typical operational loads such as vibrations or temperature changes. Consistency with the factory multimedia system reduces the risk of compatibility issues that often arise when using universal solutions.

Condition, service application, and benefits of installation

The offered item is in used condition, making it an attractive service alternative for drivers looking for original solutions on a reasonable budget. Replacing a damaged or faulty socket with a functional module of this type allows you to:

• restore the AUX and USB input function in the vehicle,
• avoid interfering with the installation through additional modifications,
• maintain the original appearance of the control panel and console. For workshops and service centers specializing in the BMW brand, this is a practical repair solution that allows for the quick restoration of multimedia system functionality without the need for using replacements of uncertain origin.

Technical support, reference numbers, and part selection

The socket has a dedicated OEM part number and associated interchangeable numbers, which facilitates unambiguous identification in BMW catalogs and service systems. In practice, this means the ability to precisely select the part for a specific vehicle equipment configuration, without the risk of errors resulting from differences between model versions. The product description also includes data such as the SKU, OEM part number, and reference numbers, which can be used to verify compatibility with your car.
