Purpose and function in the vehicle

The presented roof antenna base with a control module has been designed specifically for the BMW E81 and E87 series, with placement in the rear part of the roof. It is responsible for secure antenna mounting, proper signal routing, and compatibility with the vehicle's factory electrical installation. Thanks to the integration of the base with the control module, the number of connections and potential points of failure is reduced, which promotes stable operation of radio and communication systems. This solution is particularly beneficial when replacing a damaged roof antenna after a collision, roof intervention, or signal reception issues.

Benefits of using an original BMW roof antenna

Using an original roof antenna base with a control module in a BMW E81/E87 ensures:

• factory fitment to the shape of the roof and the rear part of the body,
• proper sealing of the mounting hole,
• compatibility with the BMW electrical installation and wiring harness,
• stable radio and system signal reception. For the user, this means easier installation, no need for wiring modifications, and maintaining consistency with the vehicle's original electrical architecture. For vehicles equipped with advanced multimedia and communication systems, this is crucial for reliability.

Condition, verification, and part selection

The item comes from the group of used BMW components, which allows for an economical replacement while maintaining original manufacturing quality. Before installation, it is recommended to verify compatibility with the specific vehicle equipment version, particularly regarding the control module used and the installation configuration in the rear of the vehicle. To avoid mistakes during selection, it is worth comparing the markings on the old antenna base and checking compatibility with the OEM part number and interchangeable numbers visible in the technical specification. Proper selection translates into trouble-free installation and correct system operation after assembly. Practical installation tips

When replacing the roof antenna base with a control module in a BMW E81/E87, it is worth paying attention to several technical aspects:

• checking the condition of the seals in the rear part of the roof,
• inspecting electrical connectors for corrosion and looseness,
• proper routing of the wiring harness to avoid chafing,
• testing signal reception after installation is complete. Such an approach minimizes the risk of having to remove the headliner again and allows for quick verification of whether the new antenna base is working according to the manufacturer's specifications.

Expansion of upgrades in the area of antennas and connectivity
